A time before Pol Pot and the end of the war in Vietnam, only 5 years after Armstrong and Aldrin stepped onto the moon, when Africa was full of mercenaires like in the Wild Geese with Richard Burton and Richard Harris, a mere 80 after Belgium hand chopping rubber gangs had just begun to begin milking the Congo. What I don't understand is why the cover over the ring, this would have blocked the view of those in the football stadium top tier stands. Oh well. The take away from the fight, after watching at half-speed was Ali's incredible cat-like reflexes. It these reflexes that won him the fight and made him the Louisville lip champion he was. Henry Cooper though would indeed have been a great encore. And remains the only man to have been able to get through those reflexes and bring him down.
