All going on on the plage this evening. Went for a swim, lovely as beach quiet (had been raining earlier) AND calm as a millpond. Lifeguards called by a woman who said here husband was in difficulty. Quite impressive response. Three guys lagging it across the beach and one paddling out to him on a board. All OK in the end. You may recall my experience rescuing a girl from the waves a couple of years ago, after the lifeguards had gone home. Scary.
