Some people lose their accents, some move away and years later they still have it. That's what I have found. Have a Brit mate here, been here over 25 years, but still has a very strong Lancashire accent (he's from Blackburn). He even has that accent in fluent French. I don't have much of an accent, although I'm a Northerner, so I say BATH not BARTH. FRANCE not FRARNCE.
