Widow fined £300 for leaving husband’s clothes by Salvation Army bin Sophie Scott made to feel ‘like a criminal’ after warden fined her for fly-tipping at charity donations point in Kent
A widow was fined £300 after she left her late husband’s clothes by a Salvation Army bin that was full.
Sophie Scott said she felt “harassed” and treated “like a criminal” after a warden in Kent fined her for fly-tipping on Oct 20.
The 51-year-old claimed that, when she arrived at the Salvation Army bin in an Asda car park in Kings Hill, the bin was “completely full” so she placed two bags of clothes “neatly” beside other bags.
Ms Scott said she was approached by a warden who reeled off a list of “dos and don’ts” and explained that he was going to fine her £300 for fly-tipping.
