need the state pension. Encouraging wasteful spending on pandemic panics when tax payers will eventually pick up the huge bill. Working from home during the pandemic encouraging the laisse faire attitude that now blights the nation, no doubt taking advantage of Rick Sunaks 'eat out to help out' and getting 40 free pizzas, totally down with Covid business bail outs, and then, advocating total war against Russia whatever it costs the taxpayer, and actually believing EDF can, given enough time and enough Linky smart meters, can save the planet.
None of the inflation caused by covid and war & Great Thunberg effect you. You support the state's wasteful profligacy and corruption while beneifting from its warm cotswold embrace. (or at least did until you left the region, check press for details)

There's a thoughlessness and selfishness that permiates from your words and actions that I find annoying. You could say all but the heat pump grant and the 12k state pension* is true spoonging, and I wouldn't argue the point, but I could come back with spoonging and hypocracy, of which the latter is the far bigger crime. Calling out the 'climate emergency' as real and 'ongoing' while hopping on flights to the 2nd home.
I'm sorry if this upsets you but believe me a lot of people scrapping by on 50quid a week are a good deal more upset. You've done well in life, were left a tremendous/good nest egg and have profited. Think of people less fortunate than you before fighting wars with russia, against mother nature and her climate, and microscopic flu viruses that have done nothing but fukc the world up.

And that's likely because the answer is because you're at the teat of the state. And that's fine, but spare me the lectures that everyone else should get on board with 'state plan' or die - literally, socially, financially. A bit more empathy, a little less santimony, and a tad more realisation that you've had it good.
* I may be wrong about the pension, you'll not take it till you're 67, point is you shouldn't be taking it when you give lectures on being 'ethical'.
