My mate Mick ( not Micky) was crackers on hi fi ( and many other things ) He showed me stuff like how a 32 foot horn could make a transistor radio sound like a rock concert.. So, he gutted a house and created two built in horn speakers that rose from the basement to the first floor , where he had the listening room. Only a small sound went in at the bottom but it was overpowering at the top. You sat opposite these two holes in the wall about 4 foot by 3 foot and out came the sound. He also had built his own record decks that he sold for upwards of £6000 ( £20 grand today ) mostly to Japanese. He did many crazy things like that. The most complete compulsive obsessive I have ever known. Several tales about him and his obsessions. He was Mr Video, one of the most famous CB radio people on earth.
