The Pink Floyd guitarist and his wife, Polly Samson, want to redevelop their four-bedroom, Grade II-listed farmhouse estate near Billingshurst, West Sussex. Their plans include turning four barns that have fallen into disrepair into a pottery studio, a garden study and a guest bedroom with a shower room. But the plans have taken an unexpected turn after bats were discovered in some of the barns, one of which dates back to the 17th century. Gilmour must now obtain a special licence before starting the renovation and bat boxes will be installed on his estate.
