I came face to face with this the other day. 25 yr old, middle child of someone I've known 12 yrs, so she was 13 when I first met her. Parents already divorced by then. SHe's now living back with her father since May. I asked her what are you doing (for work)? she said she was under evaluation because she has ... I don't remember, but anxious etc. Says she hopes to be able to move out soon from her dad's flat. Implication being state going to pay her a wage for being mentally ill and house her. SHe's overweight, speaks fluent english, has a bac +3 (degree) in what I don't know. I told her 'that's what the government/governments want, everyone on a 'universal income'. I felt frustrated really as I know what's wrong with her and what's needed to fix it but know the state via various professionals won't offer any practical solutions. Her younger brother in in Sweden doing a language degree. What will become of him, what is he going to do? I suggested he 'work for the state'. Their father didn't offer any enlightenment. He fixes amps and plays music and is incapable of deep meaningful conversation (seeing as he's a Parisian). He did give me a Dual 1249 record player with a broken arm and a twin speaker guitar cabinet without a head unit. WHich is handy as I've got an HH head unit and a good 1249 without a case and top.
