Self important w@nkers destroying major projects, a UK disease they may be importing….

Investing.com -- Space Exploration Technologies Corp stock fell 3.6% in morning trading today, with shares trading at $143.30, after a lawsuit targeting the tax incentive framework for its planned $100 billion Louisiana spaceport injected fresh legal uncertainty into the company’s growth story. Three Vermilion Parish residents and a newly formed nonprofit filed suit alleging that local government bodies violated Louisiana’s Open Meetings Law during negotiations for a payment-in-lieu-of-taxes agreement, under which SpaceX would pay $25 million annually in lieu of local property taxes — a deal that is central to the project’s financial viability.

Adding to the pressure, while Fitch Ratings moved today to affirm SpaceX’s BBB+ credit rating following the company’s binding commitment to an approximately $40 billion master finance lease for NVIDIA Vera Rubin GPUs — structured through an Apollo Global Management-managed vehicle and backed by Goldman Sachs, BlackRock, and KKR — the affirmation did little to calm nerves around the sheer scale of the capital commitment. Investors continue to weigh the fact that SpaceX’s AI infrastructure buildout is consuming capital at a pace that far outstrips near-term operating cash flows, with fourth-quarter capital expenditures guided to $35–$40 billion. Ongoing merger speculation between SpaceX and Tesla, while generating significant Wall Street attention, also adds a layer of governance and valuation uncertainty for SPCX shareholders.

The broader market offered little support for high-valuation technology names today. The Nasdaq was essentially flat, the S&P 500 edged up just 0.2%, and the Dow Jones gained 0.2% — a tepid backdrop that provided no meaningful lift to offset SPCX’s company-specific headwinds. The stock now sits well below its 52-week high of $225.64, though it remains comfortably above its 52-week low of $104.83, reflecting the volatile trajectory since its IPO.
