Sandcastles…. The Citroen C3 1.6 Diesel makes a surprisingly good beach spade…. Mine managed to bury itself axle deep in a parking place on softish sand this afternoon. Revved it, no joy. Tried to park itself on Sydney High Street. Dug out beneath with sticks and placed more driftwood to give it summat to grip on… no joy Asked the other half dozen vehicles on the beach, including a van and a pickup truck, if they had a tow rope…. No joy. Didn’t want to call the car hire people as they’d have found an excuse to charge me for sand damage. So walked a mile in flip flops to where I’d seen a tractor place and begged the chap to come and give me a tug. He agreed, but only after he’d finished his lunch…. Greeks! So walked back and waited and he soon turned up and with a rope yanked it out. He wouldn’t take a cent but he had his 2 teenage lads with him so I bunged them a tenner each. Back at the ranch now eating white flesh peaches to recover 😀 Won’t park there again!
