Hello Hamster,

You have been selected for a site audit of the Heat Pump renewable heating system at:

Hamster Hall

This is in relation to the Domestic Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) payments you receive.

The site audit will be carried out by our authorised contractor, AtkinsRéalis, and will be overseen by the Domestic RHI Audit Team at Ofgem.

Why are we carrying out an audit?
RHI payments are funded by general taxation. Therefore, we must ensure effective delivery of the RHI Scheme. Following government approved audit plans is integral to this effort. And we request participants to fully assist with our team and external contractors.

With your help and support, this audit can be conducted with minimum inconvenience to you.

Details of the audit
You will receive written notification from the contractor, AtkinsRéalis, within 6 weeks to commence the site audit process.

If you have not received this notification, you should check your spam or junk folder in your email account.

This notification will include the proposed date and time of the visit to the premises of the Domestic RHI heating system.

During the audit
The auditors will always present identification prior to entering your property.

The auditor will be examining the heating system and connected infrastructure.

The visit should last between 1 and 3 hours. However, some visits can last longer.

Following on from the site visit, we may request further evidence to verify compliance with the Domestic RHI Scheme.

If you have any questions regarding the site audit process, you can contact us.

Date of the audit
We expect the site audit to be carried out within 28 days from the date of this notification.

It is one of your ongoing obligations to allow us, or our authorised external contractor, access to the property to carry out our inspection activities and to offer reasonable cooperation with the person carrying out these activities.

Documentation required for the audit
To allow the site visit and audit to be carried out as seamlessly as possible, you should ensure you have the following documents ready for the auditor when they visit:

valid identification (Passport, Full or Provisional Driving License, Identity Card with Proof of Age Standards (PASS) mark or Blue Badge)
proof of address (e.g. utility bill or council tax bill)
proof that you own the property that the accredited plant provides heat to (e.g. register of title or any other legal document)
MCS Installation Certificate
MCS Compliance Certificate (for installations commissioned on or after 16th March 2014)
Domestic Energy Performance Certificate (EPC)
purchase receipts for the installation
all purchase receipts for any fuel (if you have a biomass installation).
you be aware of biomass sustainability requirements which came into force on 5 October 2015 - for more information, visit: https://www.ofgem.gov.uk/environmental-and-social-schemes/domestic-renewable-heat-incentive-domestic-rhi/participants/ongoing-obligations/rules-biomass-fuel-use
maintenance receipts
calibration certificates for meters (if you have heat meters as part of your Domestic RHI heat installation)
grant funding letter (if you have received grant funding for your heat installation).
Please note that, in addition to the above, our external contractors, AtkinsRéalis, have the right to request further evidence to verify compliance with the scheme.

You need to ensure that there is a clear route to access all heat installations, meters and loft spaces.

If you anticipate any issues for access to these spaces or the property itself, please let us know using the contact details in this correspondence.

Not complying with the audit process
Failure to cooperate with the site audit process and to comply with your ongoing obligations may lead to suspension of your Domestic RHI payments in accordance with regulation 58(1)(a) of the Domestic RHI Scheme Regulations.

What happens after the audit?
Following the site audit, we will tell you of the findings as soon as possible. This includes details of any follow-up actions where required.

Reaching a decision
Please note that the final decision will be made by Ofgem and our external contractor, AtkinsRéalis, will not be involved in the decision making.

If you need additional information about the audit
If you need further clarification or information regarding the site audit process and your query is urgent, you can call our General Enquiries Team on 0300 003 0744.

If they are unable to assist with your query, where appropriate, they will escalate it to the Site Audit Team on your behalf.

Alternatively, contact the Site Audit Team by replying to this email without changing the subject line.

If you have any further queries, please do not hesitate to contact the Domestic RHI Site Audit Team at SiteAudit.DomesticRHI@ofgem.gov.uk.

We appreciate your help and time with this process.

Yours sincerely,

Site Audit Team

Think we get about £1500 a year for 7 years. What do they think we’ve done, gone back to storage heaters? Tempted to let Farage know about this amazing waste of money.
