Similar happened to me in Southport. Locked out of hotel, drove onto Ainsdale Beach , left the motor running for warmth and went to sleep. Woken up by cop banging on the window. When I woke he jumped back in alarm. I thought you were dead he says, topped yourself. All well after explanation.
