Mates who started a finance co same time as we started CSY, lived in a rented manor house, long drive etc. Had Aston’s etc on leases. Rented their premises and the posh furniture in it. Me, I lived in a fairly modest detached house, we had two bought cars , Jags and Bentleys true but second hand. We bought the first CSY House ( with a small loan rapidly paid off ) and refurbed and extended it ( still own it and collect rent 30 years later) . Bought the furniture at auction. Come 2008 they went bust, lost their cars and house. We didn’t.
