Earlier apparently… The St Margaret clothing range historically refers to the popular brand of hosiery, lingerie, women's wear, and girls' uniforms produced by N. Corah & Sons in Leicester, England, and sold in Marks & Spencer outlets from the late 19th century until 1950. Historical Marks & Spencer ConnectionOrigins: The hosiery firm N. Corah & Sons registered the "St Margaret" trademark in 1875, named after the local parish of St Margaret's Church in Leicester.Partnership: Corah became a major direct supplier to Marks & Spencer in 1926.The "St Michael" Transition: The high quality of the St Margaret hosiery inspired M&S to create its famous "St Michael" brand in 1928. By 1950, M&S transitioned all general merchandise, including the St Margaret clothing lines, under the unified St Michael label. Vintage St Margaret tags are now rare collector items for vintage M&S enthusiasts.
