British healthcare. Useless tossers

Trying to get a price for my "laser a hole in your eye" %&!*@ing thing.

Rang the bloke who did the cataracts. Old secretary retired. Whoever answered said she'd get the new secretary to ring me back, which she did hours later, on the landline when I asked to be called on my mobile, and gave some numbers to my missus without saying what they were were for (one eye, both?, consult?). Called back to clarify yesterday, promised return call. No return call.

Emailed three local hospitals this morning asking for a price. One reply, £600. Asked if that was for both eyes or each eye (you'd think they might have specified). No reply 4 hours later. Two others not responded.

The NHS is %&!*@ but so it the private sector.

I just want to know if I should bother opening an insurance claim or not.

Might get it done in Andorra.
