No, Our World in Data did not change the source for that cancer death rate chart. The original chart (IHME Global Burden of Disease 2025 estimates, last updated Feb 2026) is still live at ourworldindata.org/grapher/cancer… and uses modeled data. The second screenshot is from a different chart/page (WHO Mortality Database 2025 reported deaths) at ourworldindata.org/grapher/cancer…, which has been available separately since at least April 2025. Different methodologies explain the trend differences around 2021 (e.g., pandemic effects on reporting vs. modeling). No source swap on the main chart.
