Well the south tower (2nd strike) clearly tilted and toppled (first tower to fall). Faster something moves greater the force, plus gear was up (lot of mass). A fully fueled jet flying into the side at an angle, missing most of the central core would indeed part 'fly' out the other side as debris. Doing 400+mph, not 150mph.
