OK I reckon it's like this First the 12 minute before the hour hand Counting back from the 12.00 position is is 12/60 of the way back round to the start The 7 O'clock position would be 25/60 back if it showed exactly 7.00 But it's 12 minutes to - and 12 minutes is 12/60 of an hour ie 1/5. So as there are 5 degrees per hour, that's another degree back So the hour hand is 25+1 back from the 12.00 position ie 26/60 So the angle between them is 14/60 of the entire clock which is 360 So it's 14x6 which is 84 degrees And the goat is behind the middle door, or if you opened the middle door already it's the left hand one!
