Status, rights etc. Your park rights are revoked due to the weather. The word comes directly from the Latin status, which meant "a standing," "position," or "state". From "standing" to "condition": The Latin word is a noun formed from the verb stāre, meaning "to stand". This root gives "status" its core meaning related to a fixed or permanent position. Now get back on your bike citizen, and count your blessing that you are allowed to cycle home.
