Well, they didn’t actually buy any drinks at the pub so its unlikely they were getting the meal And I was always going to the funeral, they knew that, I was already in the UK when he died, and just delayed my flight out. Also the time scale, a few days before she told me they weren’t doing anything, then two days before the pub was mentioned, “but only for 45 minutes”. I think she expected us to show up, have one drink and leave but because we hung around we found out from their friends that they were all going for the meal. Kind of decided to ghost them now. Shame but not the first long term phoney friendship Ive walked away from.
