A prominent argument, both in the USA and UK, has been to link with COVID-19 vaccination reports by embalmers of long white clots in blood vessels. These have baffled the medical experts who were consulted. Actually, in the pre-antibiotic era infections were more frequent and serious than today. Post-mortem reports of long white clots (“fibrin coagula”) were not rare. Indeed, in the 20th century the eminent Swedish physician-scientist, Robin Fahraeus (1888-1958) was able to reproduce the phenomenon experimentally in vivo (Fahraeus 1921). The surge of serious infections in pandemic times has likely kindled a re-emergence (Forsdyke, 2025).
