We have in the past had traffic violation tickets from the Balearic authorities - all ignored. Surprising as is a civil matter so debts cannot be pursued abroad is my understanding, but who knows? Also wondered if it may be the car hire co trying it on. Anyways,, Worst case is the 6 year statute so if they pursue you simply dont visit until elapsed. That'll learn 'em.
