Oliver Reed, the English actor known for his rugged charisma and off-screen antics, famously won five arm wrestling matches against younger Royal Navy sailors after a drinking contest. This took place in a British Navy themed bar in Malta, during a break from filming Gladiator. The arm wrestling matches were part of a larger drinking competition where Reed consumed large amounts of alcohol, including eight pints of beer, a dozen shots of rum, half a pint of whiskey, and several shots of Hennessy. He later collapsed and died from a heart attack
