Been helping a family member who's having a hard time, messy break up with his partner (not married but 3 kids) , family court and lots of easily demonstrable baseless accusations, designed to get her hands on his tennancy. He has twins, one with ADHD one with mild autism, really nice kids but boisterous like any 9 year old boys. Turns out through disclosure she had been receiving about £700 per month carers allowance from the DLA for the pair of them, plus child support, £180 i think. He wasn't aware and she never paid a penny towards rent or living costs. They are both totally mobile, one is a great little footballer, wtf do they need a carers allowance? She's trying to through the court to get his tenancy transferred (local housing association) on affordability grounds. She has moved out in the mean time , and has been entitled to £1600 a month universal credit, on top of her part time wages of around £1700 per month clear. She has, with the afforementioned benefits & child maintenance she is demanding, clear income of around £4900 per month despite only working 3 days a week. She probably gets motability too as she drives a nice two year old car. WTF is the point of working hard?, you'd have to earn 80 or 90k to clear that? No wonder the country is skint.
