More…. William Blair The analysts comment "This morning, SpaceX performed its Starship Flight 14 that successful inserted satellites into orbit from Starship for the first time. The team made numerous upgrades to the system and heat shield tiles from Flight 13. One of the second-stage Raptor vacuum engines (engine 6) went out early in the mission, which instilled uncertainty regarding whether the orbital mission would proceed. However, the mission continued, and third-generation Starlink satellites were deployed. For this mission, 26 Starlink V3 satellites are set to be deployed into orbit. The Starship is then projected to complete six orbits and attempt to land off the coast of Chile in the Pacific Ocean. Each Starship launch will provide approximately 20 times the capacity for each Falcon 9 launch. SpaceX was already rapidly taking market share in the global telecom market with its second-generation satellites. Subscriber gains are poised to accelerate as Starlink unlink and downlink speeds resemble fiber. This successful Flight 14 takes place as SpaceX is rapidly expanding capacity for its Colossus II data center in Memphis, Tennessee. SpaceX announced that it intends for an additional 220,000 of GB300 GPUs to go live this week, and another 220,000 by year-end. This will enable SpaceX to end 2026 with greater than 2 gigawatts of compute. This Starship feeds into SpaceX’s future orbital compute business. Elon Musk recently posted that in 2028 SpaceX will be able to launch a gigawatt of compute for significantly less than $65 billion"
