I blame Thatcher!

Well I don't. I blame successive governments for not compelling foreign owners who bought Thames water to reinvest profits instead of looting it through dividends.

I actually thought privatising water was a mistake at the time as it's a public good and there can't be any competition within a geographical area, but I don't expect it would have been any better if it had stayed in the public sector. They'd just have looted the profits to piss up the wall on woke Shit and benefits for deadbeats instead.
