Summer 1981.... Was working a summer job as a labourer in Easington, E Yorks (gas pipeline). Used to listen to Radio 1 on a Sat evening, they aired a program about this amazing band from LA called the Doors. Was new to me. My then GF came over, we lay in bed covered in sweat, and listened to the Doors. Afterward the BBC R4 production of Lord of the Rings. Happy, innocent days... Edited on 24/06/2026 at 18:53:20.
