Based on 2023-2024 data, Canada’s homicide rate (approximately \(1.9\)–\(2.0\) per 100,000) is generally

higher than that of the UK, which frequently reports rates below \(1.0\)–\(1.2\) per 100,000. While Canada's rate saw a slight decline in 2024 to \(1.9\) per 100,000, it remains higher than the UK's, which is often among the lowest in the world, Statista notes, often falling below that of most other G7 nations. Canada Homicide Rate: The rate was \(2.27\) per 100,000 in 2022 and fell to \(1.9\) in 2024, representing a slight reduction from a recent peak.UK Homicide Rate: The UK (including England, Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland) consistently has a homicide rate significantly lower than Canada. For example, in 2022/23, the rate for England and Wales was roughly \(1.0\) per 100,000.Comparison: Canada generally experiences about double the homicide rate of the UK, despite both having relatively low gun violence compared to the United States.
