'it never ceases to amaze me that supposedly intelligent people are seemingly taken in by all this bollox'. I don't think you understand what's going on here.. I call myself a cultural Christian. I enjoy the ritual, the language (I love hearing words like 'Thee', thine, 'spake' etc) The words are chosen carefully, it's a kind of poetry. I'm not being 'taken in' by anything. We sang 'Silent Night'. It was beautiful. I shook hands with my fellow church goers afterwards. It's a ritual, and it resonates with my past.
