Cet amplificateur, fabriqué au Japon entre 1970 et 1972, est réputé pour la qualité de sa restitution sonore autant que pour ses spécificités techniques. Possibilité de driver 2 paires d’enceintes. Séparation possible des étages de préamplification et de puissance, 6 entrées dont un auxiliaire en façade par jack 6,5 pour instruments ou micro, et 2 phonos pour platines vinyle, séparation gauche/droite des réglages de basses et hautes fréquences… Peu d’appareils en proposaient, ou en proposent encore autant. Par ailleurs, il propose quelques originalités, comme devoir enclencher les boutons pour désactiver des fonctions (enceintes, loudness) ou le réglage très progressif du volume (pratique en appartement). La puissance annoncée de 2 x 30 watts sous 8 ohms et l’ahurissante réponse en fréquence (10hz- 100khz) le rendent capable pour n’importe quelles enceintes.
L’exemplaire proposé ici à la vente est en très bon état de présentation, peu de marques d’usure, et il est en parfait état de fonctionnement. Il sort de chez un électronicien qui lui a effectué divers réglages et a remplacé le switch de mise sous tension, fragile, par un bouton poussoir on/off générique. Aucune autre modification. À l’écoute, il est très musical, sans jamais être fatiguant. La carte phono mérite louanges, en particulier. Une belle pièce que ce Sony.
