As in …. More than 17,400 raids have been carried out by immigration enforcement officers on businesses including barbers, car washes, takeaway shops and nail bars in the past 18 months.
This represents a 77 per cent rise on the previous 18 months, when there were just under 9,900 raids.
More than 12,300 migrants working in the black economy were arrested as a result of the raid.
Of those arrested, 1,726 have been deported and returned to their home countries
