Great news…
Trump will scrap Obama-era rule that inspired net zero US president set to revoke the 2009 finding that greenhouse gases are harmful
The US government will no longer recognise that greenhouse gases harm public health and welfare.
The finding is widely seen as a crucial precursor to the net zero movement.
Donald Trump is expected to repeal the Obama-era rule known as the “endangerment finding”, a lynchpin of US climate policy.
American conservative activists have long believed the 2009 determination, which officially recognised the danger posed by carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases in the US for the first time, was based on shaky science and that it galvanised governments globally to implement net zero policies.
