Germany's Green New Deal failure and why it won't work globally: No country has invested more in renewable
energy than Germany. Launched in 2010, the Energiewende, an "energy transition," prioritizes costly wind and solar power.
Costing up to $4 trillion by 2050, the Energiewende has consumed hundreds of billions. Wind and solar generate ~18% and ~8% of Germany’s electricity, respectively, yet meet only a small fraction of total energy needs. This "renewables-only" focus has driven Germany’s household electricity prices to three to four times higher than in the U.S. But here's the kicker, Germany plans to add three or four more LNG terminals, expanding Europe’s LNG import facilities to nearly 35, revealing a shift to gas despite heavy wind and solar investments. Billion's spent prove wind and solar don’t work without massive taxpayer subsidies, yielding dismal results. Trump slowed the green energy transition, while Canada’s Mark Carney accelerates it. If Germany can’t succeed with billions spent, how can others? If Germany cannot survive on just wind and solar, how can poorer countries? Green energy is a money-laundering scheme creating one thing, energy poverty for the people. The rich get richer while the poor get poorer. It's time to stop this madness.
